PG's Shawn Hammond is On Location in Frankfurt, Germany, for the 2010 Musikmesse show where he visits the Orange Amplifiers booth. In this segment, we get to check out the new Orange O PC prototype. A full-functioning Windows machine, the O PC comes with a pre-installed Orange Amp VST plug-in (a custom version of IK Multimedia's AmpliTube), an 8" JBL speaker, a dedicated 1/4" input, an ext. speaker jack (for the optional stereo cab), DVD drive, top-mounted Wi-Fi antenna, amp-style knobs (Volume, Balance, Treble, and Bass), and all the connection ports you'd expect.

buzzer on 07/22/2010	bit weak on the usability, if it had some firmware and a few nobs n buttons maybe! dont like the idea of keyboard n screen - mouse etc - games??? nice piece of art
stereovoid on 06/01/2010	lots of people seem to be really down on this, i think its a nice idea. to have everything in a box and made to work together really appeals to me. i think its just that we take innovation for granted these days. people loved the idea when a midi port was slapped on the side of an atari, it cemented it in musical history...this is the same sort of thing i guess...and its a lot nicer to look at than a pc! i'm all for it! peace

Matt D'Ortona on 04/23/2010	Very interesting idea. So what happens when the PC becomes obsolete? How do you update the CPU? Sort of takes the GDEC idea to a new level. The sound didn't kill me. Sounded like a modeler.
Hampton Out on 04/23/2010	i've been dying for a PC that can handle my music stuff, WITHOUT the need for a clunky interface just to get a freaking guitar input into it. someone made one, hallaluiah. a badass amp company made one. and some people are bitching? jesus. people will bitch about anything.
