anywhere you have a connector is open to oxidisation which will cause a resistance at these joints. Any small resistance will have a big effect on the minute signal coming from the pickups. So you'll get loss of signal and also more noise as the earthing degrades. Solder joints are better because they last and should not degrade even when the guitar is subjected to sweat and condensation from temperature changes etc. No way I would use these.

When I first saw this I was freaked out. I have installed several EMG's in my tech life and it actually took me by surprise. After my first installation, though, I found it to be a very simple concept with a lot of possibilities. I have installed these on several customers guitars now and love the ease of installation and time saving technique.

nice to see some damn common sense being used in this industry. too bad musicians are so resistant to change.
i love it when you you see someone who enjoys what they do and try to do it the best they can!!! way to go emg.
and i'm sure that emg will continue to include more than you need to hook it up right in there kits unlike companies like ghost who nickle and dime you on everything and say that's extra or not included.
i've never had issues with hooking up emg's but now it's that much easier!!! SWEET!

This is a brilliant concept and long overdue! I am currently waiting for a 5-way solderless switch assembly kit to arrive from the US and I can't wait to start experimenting. Unfortunately EMG pickups are not widely available here in the UK and EMG will only sell certain accessories, not pickups, direct to customers in the UK.
