Thanks alot for this interview and good look into John Mayers current tour Gear. And to all the people saying John Mayer can't play the guitar... Well I think the words of René Martinez speak for themselfs, and I also think you might want to go see an ear doctor :)

It's not a childish argument. It just goes to show what an eccentric egotistical homo JM is, he is quite full of himself. The great ones of history didn't use half the junk this tool does. I don't envy Mr. Martinez at all. JM must be a real pain in the arse to be a tech for.

What is the point of this childish argument about how many guitars he takes on tour. It's his tour, they're his guitars and he's paying people to look after them. If he wants to take 40 guitars on tour, that's up to him. There's no right or wrong here, it's personal choice.

Well, I am another old geezer and have little use for lot's of effects and multiple amps playing simultaneously; in fact I keep my tone really clean. But, I think John has mad talent/skills, and have enjoyed a lot of his work the past three years or so.

Call me an old school geezer but this is complete and utter overkill, especially the bradshaw setup. compare his rig and tone to eric johnson's or jeff or eric. And I can see 'maybe' 10 guitars for the road, but 40? give me a break. one more thing...he can't play his way out of a wet paper bag. in my opinion.

There's a picture of the rack on PG's Facebook page. It's a phone picture, but hopefully it helps: http://bit.ly/97noj0

That was pretty great...Over the years I've learned to play with much less, a looper and with true by pass...but I have one thing John doesn't have for the Wah-Wah...Is the true-bypass-Wah-Pedal by G-lab...This thing is great and very smooth...Your wah-wah sets on it (on) and you put your foot on it and go...take your foot off and it's off with true by pass...So john if your reading this ...this is a must have...Michael Cannon / Danville,Pa
