I think this is a great sounding amp. If you go to line6.com you can check out some videos of Phil-X from Fretted Americana getting down on one of these. I am thinking about buying one, though admittedly, I wish the 2x12 would come with a broader selection of speakers. The Vintage 30 is cool, but why not two Vintage 30's or a Greenback?

A 1x12 combo, made in CHINA for $1400. I'd be surprised if there is $60 worth of cost. Mark this day. I'm boycotting this amp On principle alone

I'm glad to see Line 6 is getting away from it's modeling features, and gone towards regular tube amp technology. Evan asks if you can switch channels, which they explain you can use any 2 channel switcher to do this. But they also mention you can use the POD application to do this, which goes back to modeling. Too many bells and whistels, one feature goes down, and the whole rig goes down.

Thats right - TUBES are better - but you knew that - right? and with Line6 making basically a tube amp... well draw your own conclusions. I drew mine when I sold the HD500 after just 1 week. But Im biased towards great sounding amps.

This clip tells me nothing. Too much talking almost no playing and no clean. I need to hear the clean tone of an amp to make any sort of judgement. Distortion and delay... I can get that with a pedal. Show me the clean, no effects please.

I think it's a little bit more like some guitarists won't buy anything that doesn't have a tube in it, regardless of what their ears tell 'em.

Shame they didn't make it all programmable like a Hughes & Ketner

Louie makes an excellent point, to date that has certainly been the case and i'm not confident that this amp will change that "rule", however i'm glad that line 6 is giving it a shot and not by modeling, but physically. that sounds like the right approach.
