PG's Joe Coffey is On Location at the 2010 LA Amp Show where he visits the Far East Electric room. In this segment, we get to check out their Phoenix Type 1 Overdrive stompbox. The pedal celebrates 6L6GC/5881-based tones and features a Fender Bassman-type tone stack with its controls including Volume, Presence, Treble, and Bass.

I was stationed in Japan for a few years. Japanese players pay through the nose for the best of the best stuff, whether it's home grown or imported. I've always wondered about the financial translation for the home grown stuff should any of those companies decide to branch out, which it looks like Far East is now doing. Should be interesting to see if some kind of distribution and scaled back price ends up happening.

If Google translated the page correctly and the yen exchange rate is correct, the Phoenix pedal was about 1100.00. I think one would sooner buy the amp it is trying to emulate.

Confusing name - there is already a Phoenix plug-in (by audio guru Dave Hill of Crane Song).
