PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Arroyo Grande, CA, at the Premier Builders Guild shop. In this video segment, we get the lowdown on what Premier Builders Guild is all about, what builders are affiliated with the guild (Gene Baker, Dennis Fano, Roger Giffin, Johan Gustavsson, Saul Koll, and Jason Z. Schroeder), and also how these US-made, handbuilt guitars differ from the custom-made instruments built by the guild's luthiers.

Here, we get to see how PBG enables players to choose from their portfolio of boutique, masterbuilt guitars without the uncertainty, long wait times, and lack of customer support often associated with boutique instruments. The PBG shop is run by master luthier and head engineer Gene Baker and production manager Gil Vasquez who have over 30 years of combined experience and expertise in the guitar-building world.

ECCLESHALL GUITAR. As a custom Guitar Builder myself, I think this is such a brilliant idea, shared expenses and a central machine shop, but still retaining individual styles. I only wish we could have the same set up here in the U.K. Any offers ? Good to see Roger Giffin in there, too, I remember him from way back,in Kew, London.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dennis Fano and Mark Bartel at NAMM this year. Very nice guitars/amps, and very nice people.

So...... machine fabricated "custom made replicas" of what was/were custom hand made by individual luthier instruments (seems to me) would defeat the appeal of a higher end "custom" guitar, correct? They replicate paintings and sculptures this way too, don't they? But those sell for much less than originals, right? I assume we'll see these guitars in BigBox and Mega stores soon? Sad...... I doubt this'll be posted........

wow what a coming of age for guitar manufactuering!!!!!
this just might be a way to keep stuff being built in america.
some really great builders are behind this and it's nice to see a brotherhood of luthiers and not a series of neverending lawsuits and court cases.
this is the modern take on what jack westheimer did in the 60's...sweet!!!!!!
