Interesting and comprehensive reviews! A wonderful addition to your mag article. The Mustang really surprised me. Thank you once again!

Talkin clean,a bit metallic for me but great design in the fender tradition, and very fender sounding which is why they are purchased,it'cool to see the company continuing in their search for quality instruments.

I agree... the Squire '51 is really cool. It was sorta passed off as "junk" by many when they came out. And I remember when music stores were practically giving them away when they were discontinued. But the reality is, once you update the PU's and give the guitar some TLC, it becomes a unique player. My buddy has two of them. He's somewhat of a "magician" when it comes to customizing and aging guitars and necks. So his are EXTREMELY cool and loaded with vibe. Pretty much anything "so so" that I have I give to him, and when he's done, it's like an all new custom guitar that looks like it's been played to death, but feels like butter. It's amazing. I keep telling him he needs to go into business and he's thinking about it. Guys like that are a dime a dozen, but he's not in it for the money. He's in it for the "art". Most of his stuff is one of a kind. Plus, he makes all kinds of unique things that no one else would even think of!

I like the concept of the pawn shop 51 and 72. Great design for giging...I hate needless knobs. I'll need to drive them both to see if I'd buy one, but I'm interested. For those who trash other guitar players choice of guitar ....I believe if they are happy with what they are playing and it makes them want to play...that's all that counts. Keep the concepts coming.

I think they all look really cool, but I LOOOVVVEEE my Squier 51 that I bought on ebay all decked out with upgraded electronics, graphite nut, Sperzels, SD Alnico II HB, and bridge PLUS a hardshell case for $275! I win!!!

Yeah, I am with Dubtime. What's with the tedious blues noodling? Makes Proguitarshop look even more sophisticated. Did they really need the dull looking guy to do what the other guy could do?

Love Fender instruments & amps and I like the concept here. One of my favorite guitars was a Franken-Tele. How I miss that thing. Some of the sounds are nice but it would be nice if they would show that you can play something other than old blues licks on these guitars. You got two guys there: can you play a whole chorus of something and improvise over it? Solo finger-style? Chord melody? Anything?

I think the guitars look cool. Fender is just trying something new. Probably a hit or miss but have to check them out. I'm into the M.I.J. thing. Someone reviewed more on the "wankers" than the guitars itself. My advice to them is to post a link of themselves "really gettinng down on that 6-string, boy" and see if the chaps at P.G. will hire them to do their demos, to ease his frustrated and childish mind. You are the appitamy of the "How many guitar players does it take to screw in a light bulb" joke. Get a life. If Fender can get back to being what it used to be and stop trying to chase everyone around and become the leader of the pack again, I think the guitar community would be very happy. There's just so many players out there that the minds of those at the drawing board are polluted and need to get back to the old ways. There's nothing better than a great strat but you have to get an older one or a Custom Shop. Hope these ones are decent.
