So where's the '57 Sunburst that Buddy talks about featured in the current issue of Guitar Player. He boasts of having got this off a guy in Florida who visited him in a trailer asking to have his guitar signed. Buddy loaded him up with brandy and managed to swap the collector item for a red polka dot Strat, $500 bucks and another shot. On that Blond Strat..it was taken apart and spec'd out at the last Crossroads Concert. Keep you eye on the Fender website. Don't ask me how I know because if I told you, I'd have to kill you.

Point taken - I guess he tech'd for Jimmie Vaughn. Perhaps I should have rephrased it: I wished he knew more about the gear like Billy Gibbons' tech Elwood Francis for us gear nerds. Would have been nice to know specs on his polka dot guitar other than "original". The year perhaps, the model of the strat - ie if was a stock Mexican Strat, a stock vintage reissue, etc...things like that.

You are so correct Jo. Thank you for saying that. He "is" Buddy's tech so he seems to know quite a bit.

James, Two things: Either I'm willing to bet his guitar tech knows a lot more than you think but he is not good in front of cameras. Or the whole setup is so simple, Buddy hired what he required..a string changer. He has the job, that speaks volumes no matter.

+1 on Dirk. Also that guitar tech appears to no knowing about guitars or amps. That's sad since there are tons of guitarist who'd love to have his job.

Buddy must be seen live!! ..or you will not get it. Buddy is the man, there is a reason legends like Clapton, Hendrix and Beck admire him.

Buddy is living proof that great musicians can deliver a profound musical message just though honest chops and dedication to music.

Just a great - Love how laid back the Guitar Tech is. Sounds like a carpenter describing his tool box. 'You know this is the stuff we use to do our job'. Just great ~

Too bad Buddy's not using those Guild Starfires that were so much part of his sound in the 70s

Man keeps it very simple and nice to see that for a change. I always wondered why Buddy's tone tended to sound a little on the treble side.
