Now why would anyone compare Omar to Agatha Christie??? That's a real apples and oranges like comparison. And how can one be "over-rated", yet prolific? Get your head straight before trying to tear down somebody who considers himself to be a hobbyist before a musician.

Omar is overrated. Prolific yes, but so was Agatha Christie. I find some of his some creative, interesting, yes, but a lot of it underworked and dull. Sorry.

Sounds to me like he worries more about his PLAYING. It shows in his playing, without doubt. Tone really is in one's hands.

I always appreciate all these rundowns -- thanks -- but this one was not a favorite for me. The conversation, while pleasant, lacked specifics... what does Omar like about those thin picks? What does he like about the Duncans, or that particular Orange, for instance? It was all pretty vague. Of course, Omar obviously thinks about these things a little differently than most, which is great. Wish the interviewer had been more directive here and there, eliciting more info. But -- thanks. Still worthwhile.

You'd think that a mag like Premier Guitar would figure out how to mike an interview better than that. Always interesting to see how good musicians put it all together. Thanks!
