Has ANYONE checked the JT Variax out against an older variax??? I would love to A/B one against my Variax 500, but no one has one in Upstate NY. Thanx!!! JP Johnnypro@aol.com

The benefits are evident and yet people are still throwing things. You can never please everybody. If it doesnt work for you, dont buy. But for me, i'll get one.

I have one and it's the perfect thing for guys like me that just want to record all kinds of different music in their home studio.

@landshark: Don't be a hater. The Variax serves a great purpose: versatility. Would I use it onstage with a BG or Old Time group? No. But it's great in the pit orchestra where changes need to happen in less than a measure or in on-stage places where mic'ing a banjo is not feasable because of volume and/or feedback issues.

eh, I'm an old fart so you probably know what I think. If you want a banjo sound, go get a banjo.

He keeps playing round with the banjo sound for too long and misses the Strat and Rickenbacker completely. Plus it would have been more interesting if he had played the same phrases with all LP sounds so you could hear if they are really different. Chance missed.

This is a Great product demo... thanks, Jordan. Plus we get to hear fresh new licks!

I think it showed perfectly what this guitar is capable of. Regardless of his playing, this guitar can do alot of things.

Still, the guitar's true potential is not shown - let someone who can play lead really well demo this thing. A simple playing style will not show what this amazing guitar can do.

Do I get a Ph.D. in electronics with that?
