I'm happy to be a dealer of Richards amps, and was so impressed, I bought one of his 5/17's on the spot. It's still my main amp, and I have lots of them. Richard's also a quality guy, and you can always call him, which is nice, as the buck stops with him. Even when the earlier generation 17s were pricier, I still felt they were among the best values around for a well-built and great sounding amp. I won't list the store I work for, as this is not an advertisement to get you to buys something from me, but I believe Richard will know who I am. These are great amps, and every model he's made sounds great. For those of you that like to complain, well then, I really hope your day gets better for you, and you find the happiness that currently eludes you.

I was at this LA Amp Show and I can tell you first hand that these amps sound killer. Don't let the 17watts fool you, gang, these amps are LOUD. Crisp, clear and nice overdrive. In this vid, Phil X didn't really get a chance to show off the overdrive too much, but they rock out. The day I was there, Richard himself couldn't have been nicer or more patient with all of us gear-geeks and our geeky questions. He had time for all of us and answered all of our questions. Including how he builds these, where he gets the parts, etc. The price tag to me is TOTALLY reasonable for such a well made, great sounding USA born amp. Rock on, Mr Goodsell!

I listen to all the demos, and I can't find ANYTHING that sounds like the Goodsell amps. They're just beautiful, and I will save my lunch money to get one of his AMERICAN MADE amps!....

Goodsell is first class all the way! Sweet tone, great build quality and a good value. Phil X Rocks -- "da winning!!"

Don just sits around in his mama's house and complains about everything. He probably just got back from the "Occupy" rally in whatever town he lives in. Good Amp Goodsell. Real players know it. And there will always be low budget players slamming the great boutique gear. That's the way of the world 'm afraid. Since I live in the Atlanta area, I'll drop by one day.

Nice sell, Mr. Goodsell. Bad news though - _every time_ you've said the word "Dominatrix" its been on tape. The 17 with the Strat sounds really good to me. The never dull Phil.X is a good choice to demo it, too. Separated at birth by a few decades from Sammy Hagar....

Don,
I sold hundreds of them at $2k, and I'll still build you one at that price in any color you want, but I'm guessing you haven't played mine or maybe the PRS either - if you measure the "value" in an amp in terms of $/watt then you should skip the Amp Show altogether and go straight to GC where they will be happy to show you dozens of amps with 50 or 100 watts for under $799 - mass produced on printed circuit boards in the Asian country of your choice.

I have 2 Goodsells, a 2x10 and 1x12 Super17. 'nough said!

Pretty Harsh Don. Cabs and Plastic parts are offshore, amps are still built in US. He is only offering players a choice.

Junk!1500 bucks for 17watts? I think the new PRS's are a better value.
