I purchased a Charvel Desolation DS-2 ST, the the middle model of the "single cutaway series" with the "Charvel Active Pickups", with two volume and two tone pots, which is really not bad at all considering it's $399.95 price point. It has ,imho, good tone and great playability. I don't find that the mahogany neck to be a detriment whatsoever, infact it serves to give a little different "tone" than the standard "maple" that every one else puts on their guitar, IN FACT, I find that my "cheaper" version offers a much wider variety of tone than the Skatecaster-1 that he demoes here. And some of us, especially in this day and age, have to live within a budget, so instead of "dissing" a guitar "just because" you can afford something better just displays ignorance. Buy one and try it out Then you have the right to make whatever comments, good or bad, that you wish. I just watched a video on "YouTube" yesterday where the lead player from the "Fabulous Thunderbirds" is playing a $200 Douglas guitar from Rondo and I'm sure that by now, most of us have read or "heard" the story of Eric Clapton being invited to sit in on a live set with the band "Little Feat" and all they had available for him to use was a beat up old guitar and a crappy little "backstage practice amp" and with just a few "tweaks" he got that famous "clapton Sound" that brought the house down. Maybe some of you guys need $12,000 dollar guitars (with a ton of distortion) to even think that you "sound" good (let alone play well) but a true player can make nearly anything with 6 strings and is tunable sound good.

28 brown. Jordan has once again demonstrated the wide variety of tones a guitar can produce, both metal and also metal. Oh, and also metal.

This guitar looks like shit. And sounds like a fart.
