finnaly ...it took all those years to fender to understand that " LESS IS MORE" ..light package , real tremolo , old style look....people buy those old gibson, magnatone, sears supro, valvco for years caus they are LIGHT,CHEAP AND THEY KILL SOUDWISE...the only flaws is the rectifier...they are going to SELL TONS OF IT AT THIS PRICE BUTfor 75 bucks more we could uh have "SAG" BUT FENDER is wise they want people to continue to buy the E.C tremolux....so the keep the pedal down a bit ....we gonna have to change th p.t ourselves and drill the hole for the socket ...maybe its already done who knows...

Wonder how the Excelsior would be for a rebuild, 5881s, bigger tranny, better speaker? Also, Gibson got the input labelling right in the '60's - instrument, mic, accordian.

That Exwhateverthehell is Fender trying to slide in on some of Phil X's action on the Magnatone ToneMaster clone Evil Robot. Anything other than Custom Shop stuff is Fender pulling some WalMart crap. They'd outsource wiping their own ass if they could figure out how to profit from it.

This amp is definitely on my list of future purchases. Not only does it sound unique, it's got the looks to match. It's a stage worthy tube amp for under $500, sounds good to me ha. I normally stray from tremelos, but the one on this amp actually sounds pretty usable. Can't wait to see some reviews of it.

And before I forget -
Something most all of us should be able to agree on - Rebecca is always lovely.

I enjoyed the Excelsior - keep the mess of bells and whistles off and concentrate on a quality amp. I do agree with the person below, on an amp, I prefer a good reverb over a tremolo. I can customize my own trem in pedal form.
Unless it turns out to be a great preamp for a larger amp, the Greta will be little more than a novelty.

The comments on this site make me laugh.
People complain about amps costing too much.
Then they complain that the cheeper amps don't have all the features.
Then there's a guy here who thinks that you can build a PTP reissue amp for a GRAND! If you and your friends are willing to work for minimum wage then it may be possible!!!
LOL

Amps built back in the '50's and '60's had accordion inputs because "accordion guys" needed them. I played in the '50's and '60's and most accordion players played really well because of years of discipline and lessons by dedicated teachers. Not like the 3 chord blues rockers of today. I'm not an accordion player but I have a great deal of respect for them.

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and two Mustang amps. I also pre-ordered the Excelsior. They are all great amps but completely different from each other. I can't fault Fender for building variety into their amp line-up. Leo Fender was an innovator in his time and realized that not everyone could afford a guitar that cost as much as a new car. Everyone who wants to stay in business has to build some gear in Asia. I hope Fender starts bulding PTP reissue amps for about $1,000, they would sell millions of them.

Hey, Rebecca is 'neat' ... and, I suspect she is a bit taken aback by this guy demonstrating ... he is 'in your face' painful. Rebecca was even inclined to 'take the mickey' out given his, as diplayed, 'clever dick' persona when she asked whether he was going to play the accordian ... and, by the way, the amp isn't too bad either.
