I notice the Grescht strap buttons have been replaced by Schaller-style staplocks.Anyone know how to do this without defacing the guitar too badly?

I think the guy just isn't a "talker", so poor Shawn has to draw all the info out of him. I don't think it's a refelection on what the guy does or doesn't know. Kudos to Shawn extracting the info from him.

Those "AMS" labeled tubes are probably late 80s early 90s ECC83/12AX7 Shuguang Golden Dragon super high quality and long life with higher gain. The story I heard was that the actual facility that was making these higher gain 12ax7s shut down tube manufacturing to become a CRT monitor facility and when that market died they went back to making tubes and its Penta Labs that supplies the current feed of higher gain Ruby 12AX7A-C5 tubes.. Which are what is gonna give you the thing setzer is doing in the blondes.

Anybody know what the deal is with that tall cabinet looking thing that's always next to his Bassman? Sometimes I've seen him have the Space Echo sit atop of it. That was the big reason I watched this Rundown but it garnered no mention...

I'm pretty sure this guy wouldn't have lasted for five years with Brian Setzer if he didn't know what he was doing.

I thought this guy was great. He got a little quiet when talking about the new guitars - probably doesn't want to get in trouble there.

you guys are trippin. this dude is cool as ice. cool enough to talk to the guy from the mag for that long. he knows how to get the sound the man wants. moving bridges around to intonate, rebuilding space echos, yeah that's just changing strings. just cuz he doesn't know every geeky detail about some bs that don't matter don't mean you gotta hate. it don't matter 'cus none of you will ever have all that vintage gear in the same place or have the man's fingers. i wouldn't want to run into Brian Setzer in an ebay bidding war, but it would be rad if he was bidding on my gear. all out of 301s. damn
