People complaining that a $100 amp (current sale price on HelloMusic) sounds bad need to get their heads out of their asses. It's a 3-pound combo with a little 10" speaker in a minuscule enclosure, of course it isn't going to sound the greatest. And for the people complaining that they used active pickups in the review, right at the beginning the guy says they built it as a bedroom practice amp for metal. Which of course means they should demo it with a single-coil Standard Strat, right? This amp isn't my cup of tea, but for a $100 metal practice amp, it doesn't sound all that bad.

I actually heard this amp at Summer NAMM - and for the money, it sounds really good. RC's comments were right on - what do you expect for $150 ? You hard-ass skeptics kill me sometimes...

Its nothing like a tube amp, sorry. Still has that very thin sound. And that distortion pedal needs a noise gate. Would be fine for a bedroom toy amp, not much more. Plus I think if you put a basic Strat through it we'd be hearing a very anemic tone at best.

I wish they demoed this with a non EMG loaded guitar, my god use a PRS or something, then the choice of distortion. There are 4 gain stages in this amp why not use an overdrive to boost it? So for Little Lanilei/ Mahaffey amps own the small amp world, when it comes to tone.

Too much weedly-weedly wankery. Note the amp was already being goosed with EMGs; then on top of that, a built-in distortion pedal, followed up with digital Line 6 distortion. A triple-threat receipe for chocolate-covered crap but yeah, it will appeal to the kids for sure.
