An absolutely exceptional interview. I needed to watch it twice just to let it sink in. Steve's a class act.

I prefer my NS-10s in a vertical configuration. I also like the originals over the NS10Ms that appeared later, but hey that's just me. What tubetwang fails to also realize is that all music goes to .mp3s and crappy headphones so those little Yamaha's are invaluable.

It doesn't help when you like things of your heroes but don't have enough money to utilise some ideas into your equipment/setup, still I find this article very helpful to what I can do in the future =) Vai has officially helped in my journey as a guitarist.

He can be WAY out there sometimes, but it is great to see a player who can speak end to end and understand each component. Not many can do that (including me). I always like most people who have the balls to challenge the norm. Too many people just float down river with all the other followers.

@tubetwang: The NS-10 monitors are some of the most iconic monitors in the industry. Look at any pic of the most expensive studios in the world and you're bound to find those classics sitting horizontally somewhere. Any true engineer has a set laying around somewhere. Listen to anything you've ever recorded on a different monitor, then play it back through a NS-10 and prepare to blush...

Been wanting this interview for a long time. So very excellent, wish it was about an hour longer.
