Apparently the 'occupiers' mentality has now reared its ugly head in the NAMM arena; it's not good enough to be able to afford a great guitar...dammit...we deserve the best...for dirt cheap...how that comes to be doesn't concern us...just gimme.

Hey give the Russian dude a break. He got carried away here, but if I could make and sell guitars for $120,000, I would, too! He made his first Tele in the basement of his house under Communism. The man's a legend. Not my guitar, Yuriy's the real McCoy.

Interesting comments on price points. However, most of what I see hanging on the walls of the big box stores within reach are 'average man's means' guitars. The PRS's are generally up near the ceiling along with the high end LP's.
As for the Fender Custom Shop....I don't ever see them in that grouping. If at all, they are in Guitar Center's Platinum Room, under lock and key.

Even my 67 strat has a 3 position switch. Not sure when they first went to a 5 but it wasn't in 56 that's for sure. I guess it's a 56 in spirit only.

The double neck Esquire/mandolin looks like it was made to order for Steve Earle. I like the "roasted" Tele, but I know I could never afford it.

I'll take the Baked Tele - no doubt. The Russian dude should stick to Faberge Eggs.

Uh, she asked about the tone, and he responded like all "Master builders" tone? What's that? Looks great though. Get used to it plebs... This is the age where the only one's that can afford custom shop builds are the 1%. It's sickening but it's who these guys build for. $25 million home? Gonna be someone's THIRD house. That's the new GOLDMAN SACHS/DARWIN economic reality. Diamonds on the soles of her shoes. Hat's off to Rebecca for her barely contained dismay. In defense of Fender, they were the first to roll back prices, and to make sure their affordable line wasn't just toss away quality.

I wonder if this sort of ignoring the average man's means is what is killing Fender financially.....

Not a " '56 " Strat (those were MADE in 1956) It's hard to believe Fender has come to this. Leo's "rolling over". This pretentious stupid expensive stuff is a bit of fun, but in these "trying times"???????? Diamonds? Reminds me of the mid-easterns and their solid gold cars....... HERE'S AN IDEA - Stop flooding the market, cramming stuff down your dealers throats, and then allowing all this NO-PROFIT online sales BS. commentor "disgusted" is right. Where's the platinum baseball caps and 24k cocktails?
