I have a Epiphone Jr. 5 watt I love that little amp. I have been saving for EVH 5150 III 50 watt head and 2 x12 Straight cab. The SL5 looks very appealing and I like the price compared to the EVH. I don't know if I need a 50 watt amp either. I'am very impressed with this Marshall SL5!!

Well, if I were you, I'd check out Carvin's V3m. It weighs 19 lbs. 7/22/50 watts, 3 channels, effect send/return, balance 1/4 line out w/speaker emulation and two speaker outs for $5999 (head, combo models available). Won best of NAMM 2 yrs ago. I ??have one. It's by far the best amp on the market for mini amps and more. The tone is unbelievable. I can get any sound I want. I play through 2-212 Lopo Line cabs with a Vintage 30 and a G12H in each cab in a "X" pattern. For wattage snobs. I run mine at 22 watts and it's LOUD. For me ....no need for 50 Watts....
