For all who commented on the amp..you are absolutely correct! I just got my new x-175b yesterday and these things are amazing! Guild has hit a homerun Grand slam with the Newark Street models!

The S-100 is not an EXACT copy. The past useless phase switch is gone, and Mine had a chrome switch tip from the factory. I had one basically just like the one demoed, but a 73. Man, I would have used more than a crappy farty amp to do these demos...

I've always really liked Guild electrics. I have a '73 S-90, a '74 S-100, and a late 90's S-100 reissue. Awesome guitars! Great pick ups. Too bad these ones sound so crappy in this video. That amp is simply not a good choice to demonstrate these guitars.

Agree with the first few comments. The guitars look cool, but they really should be played through a classic clean amp for such a demo (e.g. a Deluxe Reverb maybe).

Just checked their site - guessing Korean made (??) by pricing (similar to Gretsch numbers). Should go USA production, stop the greedy, overpriced domestic trends. Oh well............. URL - http://guildguitars.com/instruments/?gty pe=electrics&series=Newark+St.%E2%84 %A2+Collection

I'm a big fan of Guild guitars(I have a Bluesbird) but I have to agree with quonsar. The demo of the S-100 and the Starfire does Guild no favours at all.I shall reserve judgement till I hear them thro' a decent sounding amp.
