The "punch" control is Presence. I wouldn't have thought of that! Gail is the "variable resistor" control on the right. Master volume is the speaker, and the other three are Treble, Middle, and Bass.

Dave, do you realize that these amps first came out in 1968? No one was going for any markets back then except to guitarists. I think like the rest of the amp, they were just trying to be different. They later used English text instead of the graphics. The idea came from a quote by Les Paul: “people hear with their eyes.” So along with the striking orange color and logo, they used "1950s retro sci-fi amplifier controls." It was just for style. Back in the early 70s I used to play with a guitarist with an Orange amp. They were always known for being extremely loud. By the time you got them to break up it was downright painful!

I Like this presenter. He seems like a decent real guitar player.Both amps sound AWESOME.

@Dave- I would assume the fist means "Punch", or Gain. Both of these are nice sounding amps!

Apparently, Orange control markings are aimed at illiterates. Okay, I understand - going for an "all language" market but ... what the heck does a fist mean?
