There's a good reason why Blackmore, Morse, Gorham, etc. all endorse Engl amps. Kudo's to the guitarist & the guitars also---the green Grover Jackson is definitely a copy of Vai's old 'Mean Greeny,' which I liked a lot better than the Jems he plays now. I also like the 'Ironball' mini-head---that would be an awesome 'bedroom / practice' amp---probably comes with an awesome price tag to boot. I've only ever seen 2 Engl amps in my local guitar shops--- a lot of players simply can't afford 'em. Definitely need to save some green & look into grabbing one!

yeah I %100 agree with Engl Fan, I did also Abed the Invader and the Herbert and found that Engl had just sounded more clearer and heavier, the notes just come through very clearly. Engl are the best amp in the world period.

Someone famously said, "The good news is that it has a noise gate. The bad news is that it NEEDS a noise gate."

Oh, and the Engl was half the price of the Diezel. I wanted to play the Diezel because I always thought Adam Jones (Tool) had the best tone and he plays a VH4. Saw them last year and left thinking my Invader sounded even better than his rig. I just thought the top end of the VH4 was too fizzy, at least how he had it EQed. Anyway, the Invader is a killer amp at half the price.

I ABed the Engl Invader with a Diezel Herbert and found the Engl more articulate and better to my ears. I sold my Mesa Triaxis and 2:90 rig and now play my 100 watt Invader through 2 Mesa 2x12 cabs. I am totally satisfied and have stopped chasing amp tone. Its that good.

I just got a Engl fireball. I really love it. I tried out 3 different amps from Marshall Jvm a 5150 3. I went to the music store set on buying the 515 3 but I tried out the fireball and was blown away by it. It was the sound I've been looking for that the other couldn't deliver.
