Sunrise, FL (October 23, 2007) – IK’s new StompIO floor controller is bridging the gap between hardware and software. As a stomp-style controller and audio interface for “Powered by AmpliTube” software/plug-ins, the StompIO allows guitarists to stomp away and adjust on the fly, gig-style, even though they are working with a computer program. With a simple laptop stage side, where it should be, the StompIO is allowing guitarists to use their favorite studio software during live performances.
Currently, there are 5 “Powered by AmpliTube” software programs/plug-ins: AmpliTube 2, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, Ampeg SVX, AmpliTube Metal and AmpliTube 2 Live. These products give players Immediate access to thousands of amp combinations and hundreds of effects with fully selectable and configurable stomp boxes, amp-heads, cabinets, mics and rack effects. They are commonly used as both standalone software and as plug-ins with popular digital audio workstations like Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, Live and more.
StompIO has console-grade audio features (with up to -110dB S/N ratio), Class-A DI guitar/bass input, MIDI IN/OUT for integration within any traditional guitar rig, SPDIF out for digital recording, direct monitoring and 4 stereo outs (balanced/unbalanced). StompIO also includes a built-in body-handler for easy portability and cable securing. IK Multimedia also offers a rugged, metal expression pedal for immediate wah and volume control.
StompIO comes with either the full version of AmpliTube 2 or the just announced AmpiTube Metal. It also comes with the new AmpliTube X-GEAR.
IK Multimedia is accepting pre-orders for StompIO (w/ AT2 or ATM, Amplitude X-GEAR & Expression Pedal) for $1049.
