Celestion Introduces the G12H-75 Creamback Guitar Speaker

Following on from the success of the G12M-65 Creamback, launched in 2012, Celestion have created a “Creamback version” of their historic G12H guitar speaker.

United Kingdom (January 24, 2013) – Celestion, the world’s leading manufacturer of premium guitar speakers announces the launch of the G12H-75 Creamback, the latest addition to our guitar speaker range and second Creamback model.

Following on from the success of the G12M-65 Creamback, launched in 2012, Celestion have created a “Creamback version” of their historic G12H guitar speaker. The brand new G12H-75 Creamback is a 12” ceramic magnet loudspeaker, with a 1.75” voice coil, offering 100dB sensitivity and 75-watt power handling with true vintage tone.

When Celestion’s guitar speaker engineers first built a G12H back in the late 60s, they did it by fixing an ‘H’ type (heavy) magnet to the body of a G12M guitar speaker. They replaced the ‘M’ type (medium) magnet, while keeping the chassis, coil and cone exactly the same. The result was greater power handling and a different tonal balance, with a firmer bass and more pronounced top end. Another legendary guitar speaker was born.

So in the same spirit of innovation, we took the new G12M-65 Creamback and gave it an ‘H’ magnet, to create a new speaker with the sonic signature of the G12H and Creamback levels of power handling.

The G12H-75 Creamback delivers 75-watts of power handling with ease and has unmistakeable G12H tonality. Just like the relationship between the original G12H and G12M, the G12H-75 Creamback has a tighter low end than the G12M-65 Creamback, with a less prevalent mid range and more pronounced highs.

Not only that, the addition of the H magnet has the tonal effect of thickening single notes, adding focus, body and girth which results in a highly articulate, vocal character. These additional characteristics mean that the G12H-75 Creamback offers exceptional performance when used for lead guitar or loaded into a 4x12 cab.
