Dweezil Zappa To Hold Dweezilla Music Boot Camp

Dweezil Zappa will be giving musicians the unique opportunity to expand their musical skills and techniques with him and his band during the Dweezilla Music Boot Camp.

Oliverea, NY (March 31, 2010) -- Dweezil Zappa will be giving musicians the unique opportunity to expand their musical skills and techniques with him and his band during the Dweezilla Music Boot Camp. The camp will be held from June 21-24, 2010 at the Full Moon Resort in New York's Catskill Mountains.

Zappa is quick to point out that Dweezilla is neither a "fantasy camp" or Zappa seminar; instead the camp provides intense musical discussion and study in all different styles of music.

"I have been inspired to create an opportunity to give back to the musical community and the fans that have supported my musical heritage. Because of my own auto didactic journey and musical growth, what was once impossible has become possible for me," explains Zappa, adding, "I decided to create a diverse music boot camp for people of all skill levels hoping to increase their musical prowess. It would make me very happy if I could help a fellow musician take their skills to the next level."

Dweezilla instructors are Dweezil on lead guitar, Joe Travers on drums, Pete Griffin on bass, Scheila Gonzales on saxophone, keyboards and flute, Jamie Kime on guitar, Billy Hulting on percussion and mallets, and Ben Thomas on vocals. The Dweezilla website offers a listing of sample courses offered by the instructors. Topics range from improving your time to getting and keeping a gig, sight reading, odd time signatures, knowing your gear, and many more. The instructors will also cover some Frank Zappa history and techniques, along with Q&A sessions.

Attendees have their choice of accommodations through the Full Moon Resort. Every attendee will fill out a questionnaire that will allow Zappa and co. to tailor individual sessions to each attendee.
