Purdue Guitar Building Workshop Returns with Female and High School-Specific Sessions

The summer 2010 sessions include one for adults, one for high school students, and a new female-focused high school course.

West Lafayette, IN (February 27, 2010) – Purdue’s annual guitar workshops have returned for the fourth year with a new twist: the Indiana university is still offering a High School Guitar Workshop, which they began in 2008, but are adding a Girls Rock High School Guitar Workshop targeted at teaching female students the craft. They are still holding a session of their usual adult workshop as well.

Many of the high school workshop attendees come from regional high schools, but the courses are open to high schoolers all over the country. Tuition for high school sessions is $950 and includes the custom electric guitar each student builds, supervised residence and meals and a gig bag and tee shirt.

The adult session tuition is $1450 and includes a custom electric with figured wood, Seymour Duncan pickups, Fender hardware and high-quality components. The adult session also includes classes with industry experts.

The workshop dates are:
Girls Rock High School Workshop: June 28 – July 2
High School Workshop: July 12 – 16
Adult Workshop: July 26 – 30

Registration is open now.
