Bell Custom Guitars Unveils CTS-V Guitar

New hand-built mahogany and acrylic-fused body piece from Bell Custom Guitars.

Mansfield, Tx (July 7, 2008) -- The new CTS-V from Bell features hand-wound Amalfitano PAF pickups, a string-though-body bridge design, and a one-of-a-kind LED illumination system option that lights up the acrylic portion of the guitar. The lighting aspect makes the CTS-V stand out: the guitar may be programmed to cycle through red, blue and green colored LEDs, or to remain constantly lit.

“We sat down with the Bell CTS-V and a Bell solidbody V - the only difference between them being the acrylic-fused body - playing them through a Mesa Boogie Lone Star on a standard setting with the sole purpose of defining a difference in tone,” said Mr. Reid, designer and apprentice to Mr. Bell, “what we heard was a distinct focus and compressed tone – noticeably sharper. The solidbody V sounded great, but the improvement in tone, sustain and overall clarity was undeniable.”

The CTS-V base-model is priced as shown from $2395 and may be customized to suit personal preferences including electronics, hardware, and paint. The guitar is shown here in cherry red stain finish. There are 22 frets on a rosewood fretboard, and it weighs 8 lbs 6 oz.
