Nashville, TN (June 5, 2008) -- Fishman''s new Jerry Douglas Artist Series Aura Imaging pedal uses 16 custom Fishman Aura images created and used by Douglas specifically for resophonic guitars. These "signature" sounds were recorded using premier vintage microphones and Class A discrete mic preamps. The main controls include Volume, Blend and Image Select controls, a Phase switch to fight feedback, and a Bypass/Mute foot switch.
The pedal also features 24-bit A/D/A and 32-bit internal processing for superior audio quality, along with an Input Trim and Clip/Low Battery indicator. It runs on 9V battery or power adapter.
Here''s what Douglas had to say about Fishman''s new release:
“After all these years of fighting microphones and feeling tied to one foot of the stage floor, I really believe we have the answer to every acoustic instrumentalist''s dreams. It’s a realistic sounding pickup that empowers the voice of our favorite instruments."
"With the Fishman pickup and Aura, you can walk all over creation and still sound like you''re sitting on your back porch."
Occupying a unique niche in American music, Jerry Douglas has been influential in bluegrass music and related genres. His transcendent technique and his passionate musicality have helped him net twelve Grammy Awards and numerous International Bluegrass Music and Country Music Association awards.
The Douglas Artist Series pedal was soft launched by Fishman during this winter''s NAMM, and will make its official debut at Summer NAMM, shipping soon after.
