Calabasas, CA (September 28, 2007) – Line 6, Inc. has released the desktop-friendly POD X3 and the stage-ready POD X3 Live. These latest models in the popular POD series offer 78 guitar amps ranging from high-wattage heavyweights to boutique beauties and vintage treasures. They''re also loaded with 24 guitar cabs, 98 stompbox and studio effects, 28 bass amps, 22 bass cabs and six vocal preamps.
POD X3 and POD X3 Live come fully loaded with the all-around sonic firepower of a top-tier studio while its larger LCD and smart new controls make it easier to find, tweak and save tones.
POD X3 and POD X3 Live offer powerful new I/O and routing options. The signal can be split through two different amp and effect chains simultaneously, or the dual inputs can be used to individually process two instruments -- a microphone and a guitar, for example -- at the same time. When playing through a PA, amp or recording rig, a microphone can be plugged into the XLR input to make vocals and acoustic guitars sound their absolute best. Computer recording enthusiasts will want to exploit the USB 2.0 connectivity (for multi-channel recording and on-screen tone editing), as well as its S/PDIF stereo digital audio output for sending an ultra-clean signal to a DAW.
The POD X3 Live is built to endure the wear and tear of stage use. Its race car-inspired expression pedal gives you variable control of volume, wah and a number of other parameters.
“The POD X3 is unquestionably the most powerful and creative tone-shaping tool available to today’s players,” says Michael Murphy, Line 6 POD product manager. “It’s the natural evolution of POD technology, taken to the third power.”
POD X3 MSRP: $ $559.99
POD X3 Live MSRP: $ $699.99
