NAMM '11 - TC Electronic Tone Prints Demos

January 18, 2011
PG's Joe Coffey is On Location at the 2011 NAMM Show where he visits the TC Electronic booth. In this segment, we get a demo of the new line of TC Electronic effects--the Tone Print stompboxes. These new pedals -- Corona Chorus, Flashback Delay & Looper, Vortex Flanger, Shaker Vibrato and Hall of Fame Reverb -- deliver tones right out of the box and feature a true bypass and analog-dry-through design that guarantees maximum tonal integrity and ultimate clarity. A small footprint, easy battery access and super high-grade components complete these awesome pedals. In short, they combine simplicity and flexibility with unrivaled sound quality. All these new pedals feature a new concept called 'TonePrint' that gives users instant access to the sounds of their favorite guitar heroes. A TonePrint isn't just a static preset, it's a complete re-tuning of the pedal including the sound and how the pots react -- everything that makes a pedal unique. TC Electronic has collaborated with some guitarists in the world -- such as John Petrucci, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Joe Perry, Orianthi and Doug Aldrich -- to create the first batch of TonePrints, but that's just the beginning. The list of contributing artists will expand massively in the future. A simple USB cable connects these pedals to any PC or Mac for the actual Tone Transfusion. Each pedal is capable of holding one TonePrint at a time, but the concept is unlimited as users can swap TonePrints as many times as they want. All of these custom made TonePrints can be downloaded at TC Electronic's website -- it's easy, fast and totally free!

TC Electronic - BG500 Bass Amp Combo

April 6, 2010
PG's Shawn Hammond is On Location in Frankfurt, Germany, for the 2010 Musikmesse show where he visits the TC Electronic booth. In this segment, we get a rundown of TC's new bass amp combo - the BG500. The BG500 is built off the RH450 bass amp platform with a few key alterations and changes.

TC Electronic's BG500 is 500 Watts of power combined with custom-built Eminence drivers, tone shaping tools and a full list of ground-breaking features, making both BG500s (1x15 or 2x10) a suitable rig for any gig. BG500 shares many of the tools that have made the revolutionary RH450 bass amp such a success. BG500 features the incredible SpectraComp? compressor from RH450 that allows per string compression that evens out the compression across all strings, creating a much more musical sound. BG500s TubeTone? effect has also been taken directly from the RH450 amp, and rather than replicating a tube sound using one small preamp tube, it emulates the characteristics of a tube preamp and true tube power amp section to deliver an unrivaled full tube sound. Yet another feature ported from the RH450 is the user-defined presets. Combined with tone shaping tools, these presets allow bass players to create the tones they need and then switch between them instantly and seamlessly. For quick and instant tuning, BG500 also features a fully integrated bass tuner that automatically mutes when activated, allowing for swift, silenced tuning. Furthermore, BG500 introduces the innovative TweeterTone? control that allows front panel tweeter control, as well as two new Contour shapes that create warm and smooth tones instantaneously.

Video Review - TC Electronic PolyTune

March 10, 2010
PG's Jordan Wagner walks us through his latest review for the TC Electronic PolyTune pedal--featured in the 2010 issue of Premier Guitar.

The PolyTune is the world's first polyphonic tuner. You simply strum all strings on your guitar or bass at once, and it will immediately tell you which strings need tuning. This new tuning technology changes the way players can tune by enabling the tuning feature to apply to all the strings at once. The reference pitch can be set to your preference and ranges from 435Hz to 445Hz. If you are a guitarist that likes to play at a different pitch than standard, this is your go-to pedal, allowing for dropped tunings from E-flat all the way down to B. The tune works in two modes. First, Needle mode is for those that are used to the classic view on a tuner. The other option is for the people that want a little more real-time information, stream-mode measures even the slightest pitch variation and instantly feeds the info back to you via a rotating motion on the display. The PolyTune is also a true bypass pedal.
