Red Witch Famulus & Titan Delay Demos- Summer NAMM

In this segment, Red Witch's Ben Fulton demos the Famulus distortion pedal and the brand new Titan delay The Famulus comes with two totally separate, parallel circuits. Each circuit has its own distinct voicing. You are able to blend between the two for any conceivable combination. The Titan delay houses three completely independent delay units. Voiced for an analog-style sound, the Titan provides 3-800m/sec delays. Red Witch uses the classic analog delay compounder to ensure the recreation of an analog flavored delay, which works hand in hand with their more contemporary delay engines.

TV Jones P-90 Demo & Model 10 Guitar - Summer NAMM

PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits the TV Jones booth. In this segment we get to TV Jones' newest guitar, the Model 10. The single-cut body style comes in three different pickup/tremolo variations - dual pickup (custom wound bridge/classic neck), single bridge pickup and dual pickups with a Bigsby B5 Vibrato. The guitar features an obeche neck with an ebony fretboard, 22 frets and Sperzel tuners.

The new pickup offered by TV Jones is their take on a P-90--bridge and neck versions. The bridge pickup has thicker highs and more defined lows than what is commonly heard from traditional P-90s. The sound is big with plenty of dynamics. The neck pickup delivers clarity with fullness and is considerably less boomy than others.

Aria Guitars Diamond Series & PE-RX 80-Summer NAMM

PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits Aria Guitars. In this video segment we get to see Aria's reintroduction of their Diamond Series. The guitars feature a retro-style alder body, bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 2-APS-9 single coil pickups and a VFT-2, 2-stud type tremolo. The basses come with a carved alder body, bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and 2-FB-1 single-coil pickups. Also, we get our first glimpse at a guitar not seen since the early-80s when it was rocked by Neal Schon of Journey; the PE-RX80.

In this segment we hear about one of their new acoustic pickup offerings, the Multi-Source Pickup-Mic system. The new Multi-Source combines the Wave-Length pickup system with a condenser microphone for versatility and flexibility, which aims to provide a natural sound from your acoustic guitar. The Multi-Source starts with the Wave-Length unitary design, piezoelectric co-polymer under-saddle pickup coupled to an 18-volt, low-noise, high-input impedance preamp with twice the dynamic range of typical 9-volt systems. The D-TAR Multi-Source comes in two versions: one for steel string and one for nylon string guitars.

Hayden Amps & Ashdown Amps - Summer NAMM '09

In this segment, we get to check out several different models of bass amps from Ashdown including the TourBus10 (bass practice amp with volume, bass and treble controls, a headphone socket for silent practice, a CD/MP3 input and 6.5" driver), Five Fifteen (bass practice amp combines a 100 watt power section with a single 15" Ashdown BlueLine bass speaker and features controls - bass, middle and treble, supplemented by a pre-shaped 'deep' switch), Electric Blue Combo (uses a 180 Watts RMS fan-cooled fast-transient power stage, and a bass preamplifier with inputs for both active and passive, an illuminated VU meter, 5 band EQ with Bright and Deep switches, a front panel-mounted balanced DI output for connection to a PA or recording console, an FX loop and a tuner/line output), MAG 300 (features a fan-cooled 307 watts RMS power section, rotary bass, middle and treble controls, a comprehensive 5 band EQ section. Additionally, front panel push switches for Bright and Deep settings and inputs for active and passive instruments), ABM 500 (575 watts RMS bass amp head, 3-straightforward rotary tone controls, 2-pairs of additional sliders, a single input is switchable for passive and active instruments with a blend of solid state and dual triode tube preamps stages, also foot-switchable is the on-board compressor and the Ashdown sub-harmonic generator which precisely tracks the main signal and reproduces it an octave lower, a front-panel mounted balanced DI out with pre or post EQ switching, a sub-bass output, a tuner output, and a FX loop)

The Hayden Amps we see include the Peacemaker 40 Combo (Class A, 2-channel 40 watt combo with a 12" Hayden Custom speaker with 4-EL84 power tubes) and the Peacemaker 60 head (Class A, 2-channelThe Peacemaker 60 is a 60 Watt head using a pair of EL34 valves in the output section and 4-12AX7 valves in the preamp stage).

RS Custom Guitars John Page's Brian May Guitar

PG's Chris Burgess is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits with Everett Wood of RS Custom Guitars LLC. In this video, we get to see a very close copy of a very special guitar - Brian May's Red Special. This guitar was built to nearly every spec of the famous Red Special built by Dr. May and his father many years ago. With a mahogany body with a mahogany (or maple) top, a mahogany neck with ebony (or oak) fretboard, this guitar screams "Queen". The pickups are hand made by Adeson Turner - Tri-sonic versions. They even spec'd the guitar down to the point of having all of the hardware custom made per the original design. Everett and the guys at RS Custom Guitars took designs and schematics from John Page - former Fender Custom Shop builder - who originally took the job of recreating Brian May's epic guitar, but the project lost steam and was dormant until Everett resurrected it with a phone call to John Page.

The software includes 3D positioning of microphones in front of cabinets, VariFire, a Gain-Character control for expanded distortion color control, BREVERB-based reverb effects, 12 factory banks featuring 93 Sound and 462 variations, 10-amplifiers with 19-total channels and 31-operating modes, 21 cabinets, 18 mics and most importantly it has a very low CPU usage.

It includes over 160 stompboxes, choruses, delays, amps and cabinets, a built-in expression pedal that controls the wah wah settings and volume and it has over 200 presets.
