Ragtime Music Automated Band - Summer NAMM '09

PG's Chris Burgess is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits the Ragtime Music booth. In this video, we get to see a fully-operational band that is set up through a jukebox. As you can see in the video, the jukebox has thousands of songs spanning across several musical genres. The instruments included in this demo included acoustic guitar, banjo, tambourine, steel drum, percussion and several others that work together to re-create your favorite tracks.

Schroeder walk us through his line of handmade guitars that includes the double-cut Edge, Shorty, Stormy Monday and single-cut Radio Lane standard. In addition, we get to see some custom inlay work done by the Schroeder team. Also, we get to hear what tones the standard Radio Lane can produce in the hands of guitarist Tommy Kessler -- plays guitar for the Blue Man Group and "Rock of Ages" stage show.

Simple Amps Big Iron 34AV & 6AV Demos-Summer NAMM

PG's Chris Burgess is On Location in Nashville, TN for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits the Simple Amps booth. In this video segment, we get to hear from Simple Amps' Big Iron 34AV & 6LAV amps. The Big Iron 6VAV amp comes with 6V6 and the 34AV comes with EL34s, either 12AX7 or 12AU7 preamp tubes and runs hot at about 30 watts. The Big Iron 6VAV is built upon the same platform as its sister amp, the Big Iron 6VA, and the 34AV is very similar to the Big Iron 34A, the difference lies in the second "V," which stands for the added built-in Vibrato feature controlled by knobs on the front panel.

In this video segment, we get up close and personal with Traynor's Custom Special 50H and 100H heads. The 50H is a 50-watt Class-AB / 15-watt Class-A output head that features Brit / USA Voicing Switch on Clean channel, Modern & Scoop voicing switches on Lead channel and is packed with an Accutronics reverb tank. The 100H is driven by 4-EL34EH power and 4-12AX7A preamp tubes. Other features include a fully independent EQ, Effect & Reverb returns on each channel and versatile voicing options on all channels (Modern, Scoop, Boost & Bright).

In this video segment, we get our first look at two styles of Vintage guitars coming to North America shortly -- the V52 & V62 T-style guitars. These guitars feature appointments seen on the traditional Teles from the '50s and '60s but with some improvements. In addition, these guitars have been distressed and worn to match that of a guitar own and played for decades.

At first glimpse, these guitars have a shimmering attribute not seen on most guitars -- a highly-tempered silica based compound (e.g., glass) that works as the guitar's fretboard. This patented technology is described to eliminate interference from other inferior materials, such as metal, and purifying the vibration of the string. In this video, we get to check out Breedlove's newest electric model, the Mark II Synergy. The Mark II resembles a soft-cutaway Breedlove C25 in profile. The guitar features an asymmetrically chambered figured maple body. Also, its features include a bound ebony fretboard, Tone Pros hardware and the Synergy pickup that can help a guitarist create piano-like tones.

Vasant Guitars V-100 Archtop - Summer NAMM '09

In this video, we get to see their flagship model, the V-100, and a prototype for an electric model. The V-100 is an archtop made of Sitka spruce (top), Curly maple (back and sides) and features a maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include a Bartolini pickup that can be easily removed for easy access to the truss rod, Waverly tuners and a KTM-9 water bourn gloss lacquer finish.
