NAMM '10 - Normandy Guitars Alumicaster Demo

PG's Rebecca Dirks is On Location in Anaheim, CA, for NAMM 2010 where she visits the Normandy Guitars booth. In this segment, we get introduced to Normandy's newest model, a "chicken pickin'" Alumicaster.

The Alumicaster is Jim Normandy's take on tele-style guitars. Its a hollowbody guitar made of aluminum. There are aluminum blocks under the bridge and where the neck bolts onto the body. The pickkups on this model are a Seymour Duncan Classic Classic (bridge) and '59 (neck), but pickups, pickguards and fretboards can change per player's request.

In this segment, Jordan speaks with Way Huge Electronics creator Jeorge Tripps, about the reissue of Way Huge's Aqua Puss analog delay. The reissue pedal features all original specs and construction as the original Aqua Puss. This video features Scorpions' guitarist Uli Jon Roth demoing the delay through an Orange Amplification 1x12.

PG's Jordan Wagner is On Location in Anaheim, CA, for NAMM 2010 where he visits the Reverend Guitars booth. In this segment, we get a special treat as guitarist Reeves Gabrels (long-time guitarist for David Bowie among others) demos his signature Reverend Reeves Gabrels model.

The Reeves Gabrels Reverend features a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, flame maple top on a solid korina body with cream binding. Other appointments include a Reverend humbucker (bridge and DiMarzio Fast Track single-coil (neck) pickups, Tune O Matic stop-tail bridge and the bass contour that is described by Reverend's Joe Naylor as the guitar's "special weapon."

PG's Rebecca Dirks is On Location in Anaheim, CA, for NAMM 2010 where she stops by the DigiTech booth. In this segment, we get to check out their new Vocalist Live 3 pedal, which is a 3-part harmony and pitch correction unit for gigging guitarists.

The Vocalist Live 3 includes 3-part harmony capability with intelligent, musically correct harmonies using musIQ technology that follows your chord progression no matter what you play. The character of the harmony voices can be altered to either that of male or female backup vocalists. In addition, it features pitch correction, vocal pre-effects: warmth (tube preamp), compressor, 2-band EQ, low cut and noise gate, reverb (with three different room sizes), delay (five settings) and the ability to mix guitar and vocal sounds on the fly.

PG's Rebecca Dirks is On Location in Anaheim, CA, for NAMM 2010 where she stops by the Jackson Guitars booth. In this segment, she speaks with Nick Bowcott about the Jackson Custom Shop Randy Rhoads Tribute Guitar.

The Randy Rhoads Tribute Guitar will only have 60 exact replica units (30 available in the US). Nick and a handful of others went over to the UK and spec'd out Randy's original Jackson (the first one ever) and brought all the info, pictures and details back to the US and built a dead-on replica ... down to the black duct tape on the back that Rhoads used so he and his Ozzy Osbourne bandmates could be on stage undetected prior to commencing the set.
