NY Amp Show '10 - Bludotone Amps Hi-Plains Drifter

June 24, 2010
PG's Shawn Hammond is On Location at the 2010 NY Amp Show where he visits the Bludotone Amp room. In this segment, we get to check out their newest amp--the Hi-Plains Drifter.

The Hi-Plains Drifter is a single-channel, 150-watt amplifier with spring reverb designed for the bluesy rock players of the SRV and Eric Johnson school. Bludotone's Brandon Montgomery describes the amp's tone as "going from a sparkly, spankin' clean to a medium roar overdrive, but still retaining the guitar's original tone. Even though the amp is 150 watts, it still produces those overdriven tones at a reasonable volume... it doesn't have to be loud, but it sure likes to be loud."

Summer NAMM '10 - Dynamic Amps DynaLead Demo

June 22, 2010
PG's Jordan Wagner is On Location in Nashville, TN, where he visits the Dynamic Amplifiers booth. In this segment, we get to check out their newest amp--the DynaLead.

They DynaLead pays homage to both "blackface" and "plexi" amplifiers of the '60s, this footswitchable two-channel amplifier takes the art one step further by creating a quasi-third channel, one that links the two, creating a very high gain lead option with its own gain and volume control.

This amplifier also sports a 6-spring reverb tank with vintage reverb circuit and PowerStep, a circuit that reduces power to 50% or 90%, with no loss of tone quality. Additionally, this class AB amp allows the user to switch output tubes as it is factory biased for 6V6, 6L6 and the EL34 tubes it comes with. This is facilitated with two externally accessed switches. External bias adjustment and unique tone circuits round out the package.

Dynamic amplifiers are all-tube, turret board construction, hand wired, and fitted with custom transformers. Available in head or combo format.
