B-Band Announces Crescent Series Preamp

The Crescent series of preamps—for both acoustic guitars and ukuleles— fits within the soundhole and includes controls for treble, bass, and volume.

Finland (September 2, 2013) -- B-Band, a reigning major manufacturer and supplier of B-Band brand pickups, contact microphones and related electronics for musical instruments, introduces the Crescent series soundhole preamplifiers.

The B-Band Crescent series preamp has a crescent shape that fits to the shape of the instruments round soundhole. The controls of the preamp are on the crescent shape and can be accessed by fingertips. The preamp is mounted to the top of guitar just inside the soundhole. The preamp’s body is made of plastic.

The B-Band Crescent series includes four models: three models for acoustic guitar and one model for ukulele. The Crescent 1 model has one input for either a B-Band UST undersaddle or AST soundboard pickup. The controls include volume, bass and treble tone controls, phase button and low battery LED. Power is supplied by 9-volt battery.

The B-Band Crescent 2 XOM (cross-over-mix) model has two inputs for a UST and AST pickup. Controls include volume; XOM blend control, UST and AST input gain controls, phase button and low battery LED. Power is supplied by 9-volt battery.

The Crescent U model has the same features as the Crescent 2 but with the additional USB interface for digital audio workstations. Power is supplied by 9-volt battery.

The B-Band Crescent Little C is the “honey-I-shrunk-the-kids” model- same shape but smaller to fit a ukulele. Features include volume and tone control, and a low battery LED. Powered by two, 3-volt, coin-type batteries. All models come with complete mounting hardware, battery holder, output jacks and installation instructions.
