Dick Knight Imperial 17'' Electric Archtop.This is an extremely rare electric version of the famed Imperial made by the late Dick Knight,who was maker and repairer of guitars for 50 years.It has a close grained spruce top,fashioned utilising a unique method whereby the parallel braces are carved as part of the top and not added later.The back and sides are formed from solid highly flamed Sycamore which being an incredible tonewood gives the guitar a highly individual acoustic sound.The neck is of an extraordinary 17 piece construction with a 10 piece heel which was Dick Knights signature and whilst being cosmetically exciting also gives the neck immense strength.The neck and headstock inlays are M.O.P and Abalone.The neck relief is perfect and the playing action is very low.The overall condition is 9.5/10.The acoustic sound is great and plugged in the guitar is similar in tone to an L 5,nice and warm,with lots of treble when needed,there is no sign of feedback even at higher volume.
