SKU: F1107 Description: 1950's Fender Double Neck 8-String Lap Steel Console
Condition: Very good condition. The only un-original piece on the guitar is the volume knob which has been replaced with a plastic silver knob. All parts, electronics and controls are otherwise original. The capacitor on the tone control is original, however may require replacing as it does not roll off the tone properly. Volume control, tuning machines, and 3-way pickup selector switch are in perfect working condition. Finish has consistent weather checking, and various scratches. An area directly above the first neck has worn through to the wood from normal play wear. Height adjustable legs are original and in perfect working condition. No structural damage or repairs.
Console: Mahogany necks and center piece with original brown finish. Original bridge plates, single coil pickups, bridge covers, and controls. Fret boards feature metal overlay with square fret position markers. Headstock features original tuning machines in perfect working condition.
Pickups/Electronics: One single coil Fender pickup on each neck with a master volume control, master tone control, and a 3-way pickup selector switch for first neck, second neck, or both. Both pickups show high ohm readings, but have high, responsive output.
Set Up: Professionally set up by our guitar tech with .012 - .052 gauge round wound strings.
Weight: 25lbs, 4.5oz.
Playability/Sound: The size and layout of this guitar make it exceptionally easy to play, and control at the same time. The pickup selector switch allows for two styles of playing at once in two different tunings if desired. Great bright tones perfect for classic country twang.
Case: Includes original hard shell case.
