Based on a 1956 LP Goldtop that is owned by a friend of Jason Lollar. Underwound version of Lollar's soapbars, with magnet strength reduced. Cleaner tone at any volume, decreased lows and mids, less growl. Scatter wound for extended frequency response. Alnico 5 magnets provide wide dynamic range, and increase the amp's tonal response to picking pressure. These may be a good choice for the player who tends to lean more toward single-coils than humbuckers, and who may find traditional P-90s to be a little bigger and fuller than they prefer. Our own Brian Reuschling has a 3-pickup set in a Reverend Jetstream 390 (cool guitar!), and finds that in this guitar the bridge is very Tele-like, with the other four positions sounding like a beefed-up Strat. (This is a bolt-on neck guitar, with some aspects of its construction being more similar to a Strat than a Les Paul, so these observations may not apply so much if you're looking for pickups for your Les Paul or SG.)
