The Cherry Bomb is an expertly crafted four string machine that you simply can not find anywhere else. Every part of this guitar is hand made. The sound of this guitar is just ridiculous. I’ve had a very difficult time putting it down since I strung it up. This guitar has a standard tone and volume pot but you can get it with many different wiring schems as well as different and/or multiple pickups (including humbucker – Ted does it all).

This is not a cigar box guitar. This is a fully functional electric guitar that happens to have a cigar box for a body. It is made for exacting guitarists who demand the ability to set up their guitars to the very last detail.
When it comes to the string action, you have the full range of options for adjustment, starting at the dual-directional truss rod, through the height adjustable Golden Age humbucker, down to the elevation screws on the wrap-around stop tail bridge.
The guitar pictured features a set neck for the best possible vibration transfer, however you may specify a bolt on neck if you prefer. The tuners are high quality Grover Statites. You have to try these tuners to believe them. They don’t lock but they sure as hell don’t drift either!
The internal circuitry on this guitar is properly star grounded and shielded (a practice difficult to find in most factory guitars) and there is a removable control access panel on the back of the body just in case you’d ever like to get in there and start modifying your components (I told you, I made this one for serious players).

When Dennis Casey contacted me about building him a guitar, I have to admit that I didn’t even know who he was and I had never before heard of his band (Mississippi John Hurt and Leadbelly are usually playing in my shop). All I knew was that I had this guy asking me what kind of guitar I considered to be “more primitive”. Clearly, this guy had the right attitude for a cigar box guitar.
He and I discussed several options and finally found something he was happy with (didn’t really take that long – the guy knew exactly what he wanted). I went to work immediately on something that would fit his idea of what a cigar box guitar was supposed to be (more primitive = better) but would still hold up to my standard of playability. I didn’t even find out until after I had finished his guitar that he was kind of a big deal…
