Emmons String Machine, Excellent $1,400.00

SKU: GS3089725
Do you know what this is? Well, do you? I mean, I realize it's clearly indicated on the faceplate that this is an Emmons String Machine. But do you know what it actually is? It's not obvious, by any means, but some of you vintage effects fanatics may be able to figure it out by looking at the controls... Okay, I'll tell you. Ready? It's three (count 'em THREE) vintage Foxx Tone Machines in one fantastically awesome looking box, THAT'S what it is! Your next question may be why three Tone Machines, and how exactly does that make it a "String Machine?" A clue to that answer lies in the brand name, Emmons... a musical instrument manfacturing company co-founded by steel guitar legend Buddy Emmons. Apparently, Buddy's favorite fuzzbox to use with his steel guitar was a Foxx Tone Machine. The triple Tone Machine configuration was presumably to accommodate a triple neck steel guitar. The unit was originally sold with a triple pickup that could be mounted on the steel guitar(s). We don't have the pickup with this one, but you can plug into all three channels at once by using a 1-in, 3-out active splitter for a triple thick dose of monstrous octave fuzz. This unit is in near mint condition. *This pedal is on consignment from a private collector. The stated price is the amount the owner is looking to get. Schaller Double Pedal $850.00

SKU: GS3089729
Guter Gott im Himmel! Vat ees dis? Why it?s a Schaller Doppelter Fu?pedal (or Schaller Double Pedal, if you will). Hmm? I see this one warrants further explanation. Okay, well, it?s a dual control volume, tremolo and fuzz pedal from German manufacturer Schaller. As you can see, you have one pedal for your Effekt, and another for your Schweller (I love that... it means swell, as in volume control). This is actually a really cool pedal, though it?s not very user-friendly. Let?s see if we can explain how it works? The Schweller pedal functions as a global volume control. In other words, the Schweller "schwells" whether the effect is engaged or bypassed. The Aus switch is for bypass (translates to ?Off?). The Effekt pedal works as an intensity/amount of whatever effect is engaged ? Fuzz, Treble Boost, or Tremolo. The switch on the front turns the Fuzz mode on or off. When the Fuzz is off, the push button switch on the side toggles between Treble Boost mode and Tremolo mode. Finally, the knob on the other side adjusts the speed of the tremolo. Got it? Let?s see, what else can we tell you? The treble boost is extremely loud when both pedals are all the way down, but of course it can be adjusted by one or both pedals. The fuzz is okay, but it?s nothing to write home about. The tremolo is a standard Schaller tremolo, which is very cool. The original battery compartment cover is missing. In its place is a functional piece of plastic. Other than that, this pedal is all original and in excellent good condition. Awesome collector piece! *This pedal is on consignment from a private collector. The stated price is the amount the owner is looking to get. Keio Singing Geisha Fuzz $1,895.00

SKU: GS3089728
Behold the rare and mythical Keio Singing Geisha Fuzz. The status of this pedal in the world of vintage effects is legendary. The Keio Electronics company is better known by their brand name ? Korg. Most of first series of Korg synthesizers from the early seventies had a filter section they called the ?Traveler,? which features two slide controllers (filter cutoff and resonance). That filter circuit is the main feature of the Singing Geisha, but with a couple of additions. There?s the Fuzz effect, of course. Then there?s a curious feature they call ?singing.? At the risk of demystifying the pedal, the singing isn?t very much like singing at all. It?s really just a variable sine wave oscillator that uses the pedal to vary the pitch. Perhaps this was Keio/Korg?s take on the siren effect of the Shin-ei Surf/Siren/Hurricane pedal. Let?s talk about functionality ? all the knobs (Singing, Fuzz, Traveler, and Peak) are essentially volume controls for those functions. A switch underneath the pedal turns engages the effects, and then you can use the knobs to dial in how much (if any) of each effect you want. The Fuzz switch only works when the switch under the pedal is engaged. So the Traveler and Peak are always on and you have the option of having Fuzz or no Fuzz with it. Honestly, I think this pedal is better suited for bass or keyboards then guitar. It sounds okay, if a bit underwhelming, on the guitar. But it would be great for adding a whole new dimension to monophonic analog synth leads. *This pedal is on consignment from a private collector. Moogerfooger MuRF MF-105, Brand New $479.00

SKU: GS19780
How many times have you wondered, "Why aren't there any NEW effects?" Whether you play guitar, bass, keyboard, make beats, or work in the studio - most effects boxes are based on the same old classics. The Moogerfooger MF-105 MuRF is the antidote to generic, boring effects. MuRF stands for "Multiple Resonance Filter Array". What this means is the MuRF has 8 filters - their levels are controlled by 8 sliders. It looks like a graphic EQ, but the sound of the filters is very different: warm and resonant. What is really unique is the ability to animate the levels of the 8 filters in up to 24 preset patterns. The rate of the patterns can be set by a knob, expression pedal, or plug a footswitch into the tap tempo input to match the rate to the tempo of your song. Rhythmic variations can be created by adjusting the levels of the filters. The Envelope control sets the shape of the modulation, which can be set for percolating techno rhythmic modulation or shimmering timbral morphing. Other controls include Input Drive, Output Level and Wet/Dry Mix. MuRF shares the musician-oriented features that are common to all Moogerfoogers. All the audio processing is 100% genuine analog, for warm, fat sound quality. Any line level or instrument level audio signal may be processed. Wide-ranging player parameters may be controlled from the panel knobs as well as from expression pedals or CV-compatible analog synthesis instruments. Components are rugged and long lasting, to withstand the rigors of stage and studio. The MuRF is housed in the classic Moogerfooger "double-wedge" enclosure that may be used on a table or on the floor.  more information »

Moogerfooger FreqBox, Brand New $354.00

SKU: GS20229
Here it is! The newest Moogerfooger has finally arrived: The MF-107 FreqBox is different from other effects ? the effected sound is not a processed version of your input signal, but the sound of the input signal modulating an internal oscillator. It contains a VCO with continuously variable waveshape, and the capacity to modulate that oscillator in the following ways: - The VCO can be hard-synced by the input signal - The VCO can be frequency modulated (FM) by the input signal - The VCO frequency can be modulated by an envelope follower, which tracks the dynamics of the input signal - The amplitude of the VCO also tracks the dynamics of the input signal Hard-sync is a classic analog synthesis technique where the start of an oscillator's cycle can be reset by another. The oscillator being synced takes on the frequency characteristics of the other oscillator, and when its frequency is swept, it reinforces the harmonics of the fundamental frequency. In the case of the FreqBox, the input signal is used to reset the FreqBox's VCO. FM is a technique used to get really rich sounds from simple waveforms. The type of FM used in the FreqBox is linear FM. Sounds range from gong or bell-like tones to sizzly sweeps. The FreqBox, like all moogerfoogers, works with any instrument to line-level input. In addition to the panel controls there are control inputs for use with expression pedals or control voltages and control outputs for interconnecting moogerfoogers like you would a modular synth. more information »

Maestro Filter Sample/Hold, Excellent $1,200.00

SKU: GS3089727
More vintage goodness from the FMO Gear Shop - here we have a Maestro Filter Sample/Hold, designed by Tom Oberheim. This, of course, is the exact same pedal as the Oberheim VCF Voltage Controlled Filter. Truly unique in the realm of vintage effects pedals, there is nothing else that sounds quite like it. A great example of this pedal in action can be heard on the guitar solo of "Ships Ahoy" by Frank Zappa. I've had the privilege of hearing quite a few of these over the years, and this is an exceptionally great sounding example. And aside from a few minor chips in the paint, it's in excellent cosmetic condition. *This pedal is on consignment from a private collector. Moogerfooger Ring Mod MF-102, Brand New $289.00

SKU: GS19783
The MF-102 Ring Modulator is a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers. It contains three complete modular functions: a ring modulator, a voltage-controlled carrier oscillator, and voltage-controlled dual-waveform LFO. It can be used to process any instrument-level to line-level signal. A ring modulator produces sum and difference frequencies between the audio input and a carrier oscillator. The ring modulator's LFO can be used to modulate the carrier frequency. The Moogerfooger ring modulator can create effects ranging from subtle tremolo to harmonically rich distortion, gong-like sounds, sweeps, swoops, and dive-bombs. It can be subtle, or outlandish in its use - you decide! The Moogerfooger ring modulator's control parameters are signal mix, carrier frequency, LFO rate, and LFO amount. All of the ring modulator's parameters can be controlled by the great feeling knobs that beg to be tweaked as well as with expression pedals or external control voltages. Panel switches select LFO waveform and carrier frequency range. 1/4" jacks are provided for audio input and output, pedal/control inputs, carrier input and carrier output. The heavy-duty yet smooth acting bypass switch allows tabletop or floor use. Imagine that the ring modulator's carrier oscillator is producing a 500 Hz sine wave, and your input signal is a 100 Hz sine wave. The ring modulator's output will be a complex waveform. You will hear two pitches: 400 Hz and 600 Hz. You will not hear your original input or the carrier oscillator.  more information »

Moogerfooger Control Processor CP-251, Brand New $385.00

SKU: GS19784
The CP-251 Control Processor can be used in connection with one or more Moogerfooger analog effects modules, the Minimoog Voyager, or other voltage-controlled gear. The CP-251 adds the same kind of power and versatility of the classic MOOG modular synthesizers. There are two kinds of signals in a modular analog synthesizer: audio and control. As audio signals go through a system of synthesizer modules, they get shaped into the sounds that you hear. Control signals, on the other hand, correspond to the variations in the sound that are imparted by the synthesizer modules, like invisible hands that turn the knobs of the modules. The CP-251 provides a dual waveform LFO, Noise Generator, Sample-and-Hold circuit, as well as two attenuators, a lag processor, a CV mixer and a 4-way mult. This gives you ways to modify, mix, and distribute control voltages to product the incredible variety of sounds and effects that analog synthesizers are famous for. more information »

Univox Uni-Tron 5 $650.00

SKU: GS3089726
Here's a Univox Uni-tron 5, which is really a Musitronics Mu-Tron III in disguise. The Mu-Tron III is one of the few effects circuits that's even been patented. Even though those wily Japanese engineers could probably clone it, the manufacturers they worked for couldn't legally sell it. So Univox did the next best thing and licensed the design from Mike Beigel and company (hooray for the good guys!). You can see from the footswitch that this Uni-tron 5 was built by the most famous-est of Japanese manufacturers, Shin-ei. And it uses toggle switches, rather than rocker switches like the Mu-Tron. But the sound is unmistakeably identifiable, 100% Mu-Tron III. The Uni-tron 5 is a bit more collectible than it's American counterpart, since there seems to be fewer of them around. Or perhaps it just looks more badass in black. This one has some scuffs and scratches, but it's still in pretty good condition. And the sound is dead-on Mu-Tron! *This pedal is on consignment from a private collector. The stated price is the amount the owner is looking to get. Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter MF-101, Brand New $289.00

SKU: GS19782
The award-winning MF-101 Lowpass Filter is a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers. It contains two complete modular functions: a voltage-controlled lowpass filter and an envelope follower. It can be used with any instrument level to line level signal. The Moogerfooger filter's control parameters are signal mix, cutoff frequency, resonance amount, and envelope amount. All of the Lowpass Filter's parameters can be controlled with expression pedals or external control voltages as well as by great feeling knobs, which beg to be tweaked. Panel switches select filter mode and envelope follower speed. 1/4" jacks are provided for audio input and output, pedal/control inputs and envelope follower output. A heavy-duty, yet smooth-acting bypass switch allows tabletop or foot operation.A lowpass filter removes high frequencies from a tone. It makes the tone sound more mellow or muted. The lower the Cutoff, the more muted the tone sounds. Imagine a window shade. As it is pulled down, it cuts out the higher light, then the light from the middle of the window, then finally all the light. The MF-101 Lowpass Filter does the same sort of thing to the sound spectrum with it's Cutoff Control. As you turn up the Resonance control, the overtones near the cutoff frequency are boosted. Resonance gives the Moogerfooger filter the same classic Moog filter sound as the Minimoog and Moog modular synthesizers. The envelope follower tracks the loudness contour (envelope) of a sound, and produces a voltage that follows the dynamics of your playing. Every time you play a note, the envelope voltage goes up and then down. The harder you play, the higher the envelope voltage goes. The envelope follower opens and closes the lowpass filter. Think of the envelope voltage as an invisible hand that turns the Cutoff knob up and down every time you play a note. Since the envelope follows the dynamics of your instrument's signal, you actually play the filter as you play your instrument more information »
