The Vox Ultrasonic incorporated classic Vox effects into an acoustic-electric guitar, including distortion, treble boost, bass boost, wah-wah and more. This short-lived guitar was made in 6 and 12-string models from 1967-68 and came in Sunburst or Cherry finishes.

This Sunburst model resides in the UK with Jules Haffegee, who has made sound clips of the guitar available at vintageguitars.org.uk/voxUltrasonic2.php.

I am the proud owner of a cherry red Ultrasonic 12 serial 403418. Apparently they were only made for a couple of years but I'd love to find out how to accurately date them. The difference of the 12 string model seems to be a different headstock (to support the 12 tuners) and no VOX logo on the tailpiece. I love the BritPop sound of this guitar but as with all 12 strings, it's difficult to tune.
