PG's Chris Burgess is On Location in Frankfurt, Germany, for Musikmesse '09 where he visits with Vox Night Train Developer, Dave Clarke. In this interview, Dave Clarke gives us some insight into their R&D process at Vox while developing the 15 watt Night Train head. In addition, he tells us about the struggle between developing something that was still "Vox," but in a more modern vein. And more importantly, lighter!
The Vox Night Train head features 2-12AX7 preamp tubes, 2-EL84 power tubes, selectable BRIGHT and THICK switches, dual power mode of either 15 watts (pentode power) or 7.5 watts (triode tone) and has an easy-to-navigate front panel.
