I agree with Doug. I use 370 head with a 106 bottom to play most rooms the 360 bottom is a little over the top for todays applications.

@David Biltmore, do you realize who that guy was playing bass? They aren't going to fire Jaco's nephew.

@Jeremy C, the Variamp is a midrange control. The rotary switch choses the frequency. This is how Jaco got his tone. It's a shame it doesn't have the fuzz, since that was cool, and Jaco also used that. The original designer did the design on the new version. This is more a true Acoustic amp than the other Acoustic company making them in China. I agree this wasn't a demo of the amp as much as a demo of the bass player, who is Jaco's nephew.

Besides being a bogus demo, nothing was mentioned about the original 360 having built in FUZZ. Didn't use it much , but it was cool when you could work it in somewhere. Great amp for large halls, not so great for smaller clubs, as I mentioned before. Very hard to hear definition in a full band setting. An 18 mixed in with a couple 10's is a nice setup, but a single 18 can be pretty muddy.

This noodling demo tells you nothing about the amp. Where is the tone setting demo? Stupid, Stupid so called demo. I don't care about this guy's ability, I want to hear the amp! I had the original 360 back in the mid 1970's and played through it for about 5 years. It sounded the best when you could listen to it about 30ft out in front of the stage. On stage, the sound went right past me. It was great in the mix though. I ended up have to use a 6-10 cabinet as a monitor, otherwise I couldn't hear much definition when the whole band was playing. I loved the original for nostalgia, but this demo is an insulting waste of time.

The demo doesn't even come close to the sound of the original. Where's the bass? No wind. No floor shaken. What are these people thinking?

ditto the crap demo. could've gotten the same plucky crap sound out of a peavey microbass. i know what the old ones sound like. just sold my 70's model 2 years ago.

That demo was crap...slap...slapslapslap...pluckslappl uck...oooo...Wooow! Not a real world demo for real bass players. That was the same kind of show-off stuff you hear at Guitar centers around the world and then magnified at NAMM shows. What about a real bass player playing a real bass part...something from the real world that shows the NEW 360/361 matches and then betters the 'OLD' 360/361...which was a great bass amp. Yep...long throw...you didn't ever hear the real lowend from that cab on stage. Fact is that guy should be fired and not be a demo guy for Acoustic...wow he can thumb & pluck & slap. Whoever said it above was right...what about the preamp...no questions or answers. That was a terrible demo from all points of view except the old guy who knew what was going on. he explained the 400 watt power amp first thing...then she goes and asks him how much power the amp had...dumb!

I'm very disappointed that Rebecca didn't ask any questions about the preamp. What is the Variamp control? Is it is the Variamp on the Gibson 345 Guitar? I'd also have liked if David had play some long low notes rather than giving us a slap display.
