these will be showing up on CraigsList in about 10 years for $500? Right along with all the covered in dust and drool Squire amps covered with action hero stickers. Same art concept, just a different original list price LOL

I don't think anyone here is doubting Fargon's skills as an amp builder, I think it's his taste that's in question...

I sure Lennon would have loathed this, he in particular hated capitalization, especially attempting to capitalize from the diseased! If he was still around he MAY have let one/some of the companies that he had dealings with in the past make some sort of "tribute" instrument in his name ( Eg; Epiphone or Gretsch guitars or Vox etc ) but not this.... It does wind me up these "signature" models, yet the artistes involved have been dead for years, and worse still, would've never even heard of the companies that are now producing this stuff! (Digitech "Hendrix Wah" is another one that springs to mind, again good product, but where's the "association?" ) I'm sure this is a finely made amp, but Yoko is probably pulling-off somewhere in the region of a grand per sale, and Fargon is happy to be "party" to it. Makes you wonder how many other amp makers she approached before finding one that agreed to make it for her. The song "How Do You Sleep At Night" would be apt here I think...

and blah, blah, blah Maybe i'll paint my AC15 white and silk screen one of JLs sketches on the front. Cost? Less than $20 marketing desperation but why? his amps are already $1000s overpriced. Why make it even more obvious? Of course to those who can afford booteak amps it doesnt matter. The inflated prices are only bragging points to tone deaf collectors.

I had the opportunity to stop by the booth and get a great demo from Ben Fargen, and to get the full story on the Lennon lineup. The amps sound great in person, capturing the intended tones to a remarkable degree. Ben Fargen and myself spent a great deal of time talking Beatle lore, and tones - Ben knows his stuff, believe me. Also, these fellows are going to be around for a long time - they are doing these amps for all the right reasons, and their love and respect for John Lennon is in league with any devotee I have ever seen, including myself. Also seen and heard commenting favorably at NAMM were Beatle gear guru Andy Babiuk of Fab Gear, and Brian Kehew (Recording The Beatles). I will admit to going into the demo/interview skeptical, but I came out a friend. I also spent some time with Myles Rose (Myles is as respected an amp expert as there is on the planet), and Myles said he loves and greatly respects Ben's work, and has for years. Let's not forget - when Joe Satriani or Steve Vai need amp work done, they go to Ben. People who are blindly hating here, are doing so disrespectfully and without doing their homework, and that's a shame.

Well said West Coast. You obviously get it. These others comments forget that a endorsement cash grab would surely been done by a much, much larger and far less quality minded amp company and marketed to no end. Fargen is certainly not that company.

Ben Fargen is one of the BEST amp builders in the country. Hands down. I can't b/l all of the people bashing him right now. His amps are second to none. If you ever try his Olde 800 or his Retro Classic, then you would probably have a different opinion. Granted, the John Lennon amp isn't the amp for me, but I would take any of his other amps in a heartbeat. Ben Fargen knows tone, I can assure you of that. Keep up the good work, Ben.

I heard these amps at NAMM this year, and they sound good. Our booth was near Fargen's and the group of guys that make Fargen, are genuinely good guys. A few of the comments above are unfortunately spoken out of ignorance or simple mis-understanding of the music industry. Of course they are trying to sell amps, thats the goal of most business, and endorsements from popular artists or groups helps to accelerate your product(s). Endorsements by reputable artists are hard to come by; the artist needs to make sure the company they are endorsing is a good fit. So if anything, this shows that John Lenon's management are completely confident in the Fargen people to represent John Lenon's legacy.

Lennon played VOX amps with The Beatles. Now that VOX is a Chinese brand, JMI Amps which are handmade in England are probably much closer to what Lennon used.

The amp sounds cheap and has a horrible tone. Pete Anderson is not the player he once was. Lame in all respects. Shame on you Fargen this amp should be named the Fargen Farter.
