Zoom are really proving to be the inovators at the moment and the quality (and price) of their current effect units are giving companies like Line 6 and Boss some serious competion. One thing though, I know Zoom are well known for including some pretty weird sounding effect patches but really, why do they keep offering ring modulators? They would have to be the most un-musical effect of all time. Maybe in the hands of someone like Frank Zappa, it could be used for some weird, out there special effect, but really, I dont personally enjoy listening to one and would never use it.
