What is Soundslice?

Soundslice makes sheet music and guitar tablature beautifully interactive to help you learn music more efficiently. As experienced guitarists know, tabs are great for some things—such as revealing where notes are located on specific frets and strings—but less useful for communicating the subtleties of phrasing, dynamics, bending, and sliding.

To get the maximum benefit from tab, you need to listen to the original recording to understand exactly how a guitarist is performing the music. And to an extent, the same is true for sheet music. It's a fact: A musical performance can't be fully represented in ink or pixels. To decode and learn what a guitarist plays on a particular track, you need to listen to it, not simply read about it.

With that in mind, we are partnering with Soundslice to offer a hybrid audio player/notation viewer that syncs the written information with real guitar audio.
