We were lucky enough to spend an afternoon behind the bricks of Roger Waters' The Wall Live, chatting with guitarists Dave Kilminster, G.E. Smith, and Snowy White, along with techs Tim Myer and Colin Lyon.

Dave Kilminster


Guitars
Nicknamed "Rose," Kilminster's main guitar is used for most of the show's electric parts other than in "Hey You." It has a swamp ash body with a maple neck, a Seymour Duncan Custom bridge pickup, Suhr Fletcher Landau single-coils, and a Suhr tremolo and tuners which are now out of production.

Amps
Kilminster uses a duo of 50-watt Mercury amps. Brunetti added a wattage switch for him so he could run them at 20-watts, which Kilminster still describes as, "ridiculously loud." He EQs the amps fairly flat and uses both heads in stereo.



Pedals
Dave uses an Eventide TimeFactor, Boss CE-2 Chorus Ensemble, Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor, Suhr Riot distortion, Wah, Ernie Ball VP JR, and Boss TU-2 Tuner, as well as a Boss PSM-5 power supply and master switch pedal, which is used to control the rackmounted delays.

on 07/23/2012 		terrible audio when the goatee guy interviews , he clips the mic hard , he is way too loud . come on goatee guy , we dont care what you say , we care about the answer , and your voice has amny frog , gain down , clear throat , do NOT mic point at frog hole

on 07/22/2012 		RE Waters' P-Bass: "It's a bit of a hybrid, Fender cloned it and it sounds fantastic... it's exactly how he had it... it's a hybrid it's had a few different things done to it and it sounds fantastic so yeah Fender cloned it..." – Colin, Bass Tech. Shadrick, maybe ask "What's hybrid about it?"; "How did he have it, exactly?"; "What different things have been done to it?" – Listen to what's being said, then press for more info! If the interviewee isn't forthcoming with info, at least you did your job!

on 07/19/2012 		I'm so glad to see GE Smith get some attention. He is a truly inspiring player. I appreciate the opportunity to hear what details he zeros in on, and what aspects he has completely let go of control on. And it would be wonderful to see a whole show of him using just the one guitar.

on 07/19/2012 		I like to see and hear how the actual musicians use and feel about there rigs. I know I my rig has to be just right or I can't give my best! Rebecca is major plus - she makes the artists/crew relax and WANT to talk about the setups!
She's smart, knows what questions to ask because she knows the gear! Love her PG!
