The Tokai brand has returned to the US, and PG contributor Tom Butwin got his hands on the Breezysound, a vintage-inspired T-style built in Japan with clean fretwork and tight tolerances throughout.
The hardware includes a bone nut and Gotoh tuners with a vintage slotted design, along with a 9.5” fretboard radius, a 25.5” scale, and 22 frets that balance vintage feel with modern playability. Electronics are simple and effective: a 500k volume pot, 250k tone pot, and a three-way switch routed to a pair of Gotoh single-coil pickups, delivering vintage-inspired tone without any modification. The guitar ships with a gig bag and comes strung with GHS strings.
Built with everything a T-style needs and nothing extra, the Breezysound is designed to get out of the way and let you play.
