New gear from the final day of Summer NAMM!

"3rd Power Amplification didn't unveil any new models per se at this show, but it did debut a very cool new feature on its Dream Series amps. The rear-panel HybridMASTER control has the same goal as an attenuatorяi.e., to yield great tone at more manageable volumesяbut designer Jamie Scott says that, unlike attenuators, this new feature adjusts multiple points in the circuit rather than just one in order to preserve the feel and tone achieved at full volume. We were very impressed with what we heard from it at the show."

Playing in the pocket is the most important thing in music. Just think about how we talk about great music: It's "grooving" or "swinging" or "rocking." Nobody ever says, "I really enjoyed their use of inverted suspended triads," or "their application of large-interval pentatonic sequences was fascinating." So, whether you're playing live or recording, time is everyone's responsibility, and you must develop your ability to play in the pocket.
