Nashville, TN (April 1, 2008) — Epiphone and Gibson are launching three Slash Signature model guitars, which are available at select international guitar retailers at 5 p.m. US EDT today. The three models are Slash signature Les Pauls from Gibson Custom, Gibson USA and Epiphone, and each was designed and produced in co-operation with the Velvet Revolver guitarist. The guitars will not be reproduced once they’re sold out.
The Gibson Custom Shop Inspired By Slash VOS Les Paul is a replica of Slash''s 1988 Les Paul. The original toured with Guns N'' Roses on their two-year Appetite for Destruction tour. The model comes with a pair of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups and the aging of Gibson Custom''s Vintage Original Spec series. It has a faded Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish, carved maple top, one-piece mahogany back and rosewood fingerboard. It also has a redemption form for an exclusive leather jacket with a custom interior logo label, a custom shop case with Slash logo artwork and a certificate of authenticity, and can be purchased for $5880 (MSRP).
The Gibson USA Slash Les Paul Standard is a recreation of the Gibson Standard Slash currently tours with -- one he notes as a "badass guitar," which is a favorite for live environments. It has an Antique Vintage Sunburst finish applied to a solid mahogany body, an AA maple figured top and dark back. The body features Gibson''s period-correct weight-relief structure with a pair of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro humbuckers. The neck was designed by Slash: a solid mahogany with a thin profile and headstock showcasing a skull and crossbones, top hat logo and signature. With purchase, customers receive a special limited edition case with white interior and Slash designed logo, as well as a certificate of authenticity. Only 1600 Standards will be sold. The model has an MSRP of $3499.
Finally, the Epiphone Slash Les Paul Standard Plus Top features a solid mahogany body, highly-figured flame maple top and a vintage-correct neck tension that extends into the body pickup cavity (for more wood-to-wood contact and sustain). It comes with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro humbuckers and a LockTone stopbar/Tune-o-matic system, which secures the bridge and tailpiece to the guitar without strings. The Epiphone has a Dark Tobacco Burst finish, nickel hardware and machine heads with vintage tulip buttons. Also included are the new Slash autobiography, custom hard case, custom strap and picks and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Slash commented on the least expensive of the three guitars: "I was really happy to get invovled with Epiphone because there are a lot more people that would be interested in getting a good guitar for a little less money." This model can be yours for $1464 (MSRP).
When discussing the entire series, Slash said, “I have always been a Les Paul player and am very proud to have my own range produced by Gibson and Epiphone, the makers of the world’s greatest guitars."

As part of the launch of these guitars, Slash has been popping up across the country and will continue to do so during the week of the release. Slash’s famous top hat will show up on various subjects around the world in famous destinations. Over 50 Slash look-alikes recently ran the L.A. Marathon in a “Dash for Slash” campaign. The Hollywood Guitar Center at 7425 Sunset Blvd. will don four over-sized photos of the rock icon armed with his newest guitar models. Today, the photos will be officially installed as part of the launch of these Slash Signature model guitars. Also taking place tonight is Velvet Revolver''s concert in Amsterdam, which will also serve as a platform for the promotion.
