Reverend Guitars Unveils the Greg Koch Gristlemaster and Rick Vito Signature Soulshaker
Both models will debut at the 2019 NAMM show.
Toledo, OH (December 10, 2018) -- The rumors have been swirling for months, ever since Greg Koch flew to Toledo, OH to shoot “The Ken and Greg Show” at Reverend Guitars. Now the rumors are a reality. The Reverend Greg Koch Signature Gristlemaster will debut at The NAMM Show 2019.
The guitar has a T-style body that is slightly larger than a classic T. A raised center ridge increases the sustain. A chamber under the pickguard increases the resonance. Reverend Guitars equips the model with the Fishman Greg Koch Signature Gristle-Tone pickup set – hum-free, rechargeable active pickups with two distinct voicings from Fishman’s Fluence series. The Gristlemaster also features a roasted maple compound radius neck and a Wilkinson Classic 3-Saddle bridge with staggered brass saddles and steel baseplate. It comes in Chronic Blue, Powder Yellow, or Party Red, all with a single-ply parchment pickup.
Greg Koch is the remarkable guitarist who is well-known for his perpetually popular online videos, his books and instructional videos through Hal Leonard, and his power blues band, the Koch-Marshall Trio. Greg met Ken Haas, Reverend Guitars CEO while shooting demo videos with Wildwood Guitars. The pair hit it off, and viewers began demanding more from the duo. They have an online show called “The Ken and Greg Show” demoing a variety of Reverend Guitars They plan to embark on a clinic tour and shoot the second season of the show in 2019.
Reverend Guitars took their Charger body style and loaded it with their Talnico pickups for traditional, early 50s twang that’s never harsh. The neck pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity for hum canceling when used in conjunction with the bridge pickup. Packed into the Korina body for lots of resonance and rich harmonics providing a highly-prized midrange bump. The Reverend Bass Contour can tighten up the low end even more and re-voice the pickups for lots of versatility. String-thru body with stainless steel saddles add extra sustain and bite.
Reverend Guitars Designer Joe Naylor says, “The Trickshot can go from a thicker, 50s traditional tone to a thinner 60s retro tone right at the player’s fingertips.” On all Reverend Guitars, there is a Boneite nut and locking tuners, Reverend’s Bass Contour Control, and a dual-action truss rod – all for maximum performance. You can’t be different if you’re playing what everyone else is.
The Reverend Rick Vito Signature Soulshaker is Reverend Guitars’ third signature model with the influential artist. This guitar is a single cut set-neck with a pair of humbuckers that are emblazoned with Vito’s deco triangles. It comes in either Ivory Pearloid or Grey Pearloid – both with custom-made black-and-white checkerboard binding. Designed to be well-balanced for slide players like Vito, the neck has a single-action truss rod for lighter weight. The back of the neck is finished in satin so it feels smooth and comfortable. Equipped with a Bigsby and an Ebony fretboard, the guitar is tailored to Vito’s particular brand of slide blues that astonishes audiences around the world.
Rick Vito got his start with Delaney and Bonnie when he was in his early twenties. He has played with many notable artists, such as John Mayall, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, and Fleetwood Mac. Most recently, Vito and Mick Fleetwood formed the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band in Hawaii while Vito also maintains his worldwide solo career out of Nashville.
On all Reverend Guitars, there is a Boneite nut, locking tuners, and a dual-action truss rod – all for maximum performance. You can’t be different if you’re playing what everyone else is.
